Privacy Policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
EV Dibs is an app for booking shared electric-vehicle chargers in apartment garages. It is operated by REALSENSE, LLC ("we"). It's used by residents of buildings whose property manager has set it up. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to have it removed.
The short version
- We collect what's needed to run your building's charger bookings, and nothing for advertising.
- We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers.
- Your building's property manager can see your account, vehicles and bookings. Other residents can see that a charger is booked, but not who booked it.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, unit number, and optionally a phone number. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash.
- Vehicles: licence plate and state, and the make, model and colour you enter.
- Bookings and activity: the chargers you book, when, check-ins, early releases, cancellations, recall notices and your responses, and any rule violations recorded by your building.
- Reports: if you report a problem with a charger or a parked car, what you report, including any plate number, note or photo you add.
- Board views: when you look up availability for a time, we record that time so your building can see when demand is high.
- Your device: a push-notification token, your phone's platform and app version, so we can send booking and recall alerts.
- Contact form: your name, email, building and message, plus your IP address to limit spam.
- Server logs: IP addresses and request details, kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.
We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't collect your location.
How we use it
- To show the charger board, take bookings and send reminders and recall notices.
- To apply your building's charging rules, including recording overstays.
- To give your property manager reports on how the chargers are used.
- To answer messages and keep the service secure.
Who can see it
- Your property manager and their staff can see your account details, vehicles, bookings and any recorded violations for their building. They approve new accounts and enforce the garage rules.
- Towing: if a vehicle overstays, your property manager may share its plate and the booking record with a towing company. EV Dibs never arranges a tow on its own; a person at your building decides.
- Other residents see when each charger is free or booked, but not your name, unit or plate.
- People who share your car: if you link a vehicle with another driver (which both of you must agree to), each of you can see and manage that car's bookings.
- Service providers who run parts of the service for us: hosting (DigitalOcean), push notifications (Apple, Google and Expo), and email or text-message delivery. They may use your information only to provide that service.
- When required by law, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it's active. Booking and enforcement records are kept as long as your building needs them to settle disputes about charger use. Recorded violations expire under your building's rules. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, except records we must keep for an open dispute or legal reason.
Your choices
- You can view and update your details in the app.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your account using the contact form.
- You can turn off notifications in your phone's settings. Some alerts, such as recall notices, are part of how your building's rules work, so turning them off may mean you miss a deadline.
Security
Connections to EV Dibs are encrypted. Passwords are hashed, and the app stores your sign-in token in your phone's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
EV Dibs is for adult residents with vehicles and isn't directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
